Increase in price of sugar has been witnessed across the country. Sugar is being sold at Karachi (Rs70 per kg), Quetta (Rs72 per kg), Interior Sindh (Rs80 per kg). According to Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that Sugar would be available at a discounted rate of Rs 10 on the Utility stores of the country.Increase of prices is also being witnessed at wholesale markets across the country. The price of 100kg bag of Sugar is being sold at Rs 6,700. In Quetta an increase of Rs 200 has been recorded in the past couple of days in 50 kg bag of Sugar.Residents in different cities have said that Sugar crisis is taking its toll again. The government should take concrete measures to control the crisis. According to them sugar is available at Rs 70 to Rs 80 in different parts of the country.
