LA PAZ (AFP) - Bolivia and Vietnam agreed Friday in La Paz to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation, including in mining and gas production and to develop rice and textile companies, an official said.

Vietnam deputy prime minister, Vu Van Mih, who met Bolivia President Evo Morales in the capital, stressed the two countries have a wealth of knowledge to exchange.

"In Bolivia, they have a lot of experience in the exploitation of gas, in the exploitation of minerals, and in Vietnam, we have very good experience cultivating rice in water and in the textile industry," he told reporters with the help of an interpreter.

Currently, the two countries have signed an agreement on oil cooperation between the state-owned oil companies Petrovietnam and YPFB, dating to August 2011. They have previously expressed interest in increasing diplomatic and business ties.
