Summary Foreign companies are interested in setting up power plants, says CM Shahbaz
WASHINGTON (Online) - The US is hosting a three-day energy conference in Houston, Texas, later this month to encourage investments in Pakistan’s energy sectors, sources said on Sunday.
The Pakistani delegation, which may include the Minister for Water and Power, Khwaja Asif, and the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, is expected to reach Washington next week.
They will attend a meeting of the Energy Working Group as part of the strategic dialogue process which resumed earlier this year after a two-year gap.
The energy conference will be held in Houston on November 13, 14 and 15.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif says the PML-N has always condemned the drone attacks and its policy has not changed after coming to power, state media reported on Sunday.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore‚ Shahbaz Sharif said he has held useful meetings with investors and businessmen abroad‚ which will yield good results soon.
He said several companies have expressed willingness to set up power plants in Pakistan particularly in Punjab Province.
