Summary A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce congratulated Saleem Mandviwalla on his new portfolio.
ISLAMABAD (Online): President ICCI Mr.Zafar Bakhtawari said that business community of Federal Capital welcomed the appointment of Saleem Mandviwalla as the Federal Minister for Finance by the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari.
He said that Mandviwalla had a rich background regarding business activities as he has served as Chairman of the Board of Investment as well as Minister of State for Finance.
Bakhtawari said that Mandviwalla had very recently visited the Islamabad Chambers of Commerce and Industry where he lent a patient ear to the issues raised by the country’s leading businessmen and promised to tackle them proactively.
Speaking on the occasion newly appointed Federal Minister for Finance Mr. Saleem H.Mandviwalla said that he would try to put the economy of the country on right track in his short tenure. He said that he would also resolve the issue of unnecessary harassment of taxpayers that have tended to discourage tax compliance in our country.
Mr.Tariq Sadiq, Mr.Abdul Rauf, Mr.Zubair Ahmed Malik, Mr.Khalid Javaid, former Presidents of ICCI, Mr.Amin-ur-Rehman, Executive member and Mr.Ishtiaq Qureshi, Former Vice President of ICCI were also present.
