Revenues surge by 2 pc in last quarter: Tarin

Federal Minister for Finance Shaukat Tarin said on Wednesday that scope of revenues should be widened to avoid aids given like under Kerry-Lugar Bill.Briefing Senates Standing Committee on Finance & Revenue meeting, Shaukat Tarin said artificial methods were used during the previous governments tenure that had adverse effects on the economy. He told that revenues had increase by 2 percent during last quarter and Rs 262 billion of tax had been collected, just Rs 8 billion short of the target.
