Record increase in gold prices last week

An acute surge in gold prices was witnessed in local an international markets last week. Gold prices at the end of the week surged to Rs 32,500 per tola whereas price of 10 grams increased to Rs 27,857 in the local market, traders said. In the world market, gold price increased by $2 per ounce to $1050. During the last week, gold witnessed an overall increase of Rs 1250 per tola and 1072 per 10 grams in local market whereas it surged by $45 to close at $1050 in world market.
