Summary The Punjab government has been authorized to collect sales tax from restaurants, newspaper ads.
A notification in this regard has been issued under 18th Amendment. According to notification, Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) will now collect sales tax instead of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).Earlier, FBR used to collect the tax for Punjab government.The PRA has now been authorized to collect sales tax on restaurant services, advertisements in newspapers and franchise services.
