Summary ECC on Tuesday approved that diesel prices will be fixed by oil companies instead of OGRA.

The Economic Coordination Committee in a meeting headed by Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh reviewed the summary of the petroleum ministry regarding deregulation of electricity charges.According to the sources, the ECC approved ECC has approved a summary for deregularisation of diesel prices that would be fixed by the oil companies in future instead of OGRA.The meeting dismissed a summary for allowing the import of CNG kits and approved a grant of $ 1 million for supply of sugar to Tajikistan. This amount would be utilised for transportation of sugar to Turkham border.Meanwhile, the ECC also approved purchase of more ten thousand tons of sugar from local market via trading corporation. The sugar would be purchased from a particular sugar mill of Sindh as per the directions of Lahore High Court.
