Spot fixing: Pak trios plea to quash case rejected

A UK court has turned down Pakistani cricketing trios plea to quash spot-fixing hearings.

Salman Butt, Muhammad Amir and Muhammad Asif had requested the court to drop proceedings against them since the News of the World, the paper that initiated the scandal against them, had been shut. The court turned down their request and set Oct 4 for the next hearing. Sources however said the court has called the case against the trio a weak one.
