Late Indian spiritual leaders chamber, a treasure trove

Loads of cash and gold-silver bricks have been found in late spiritual leader Sathya Sais chamber.

A treasure trove of gold-silver bricks and bundles of cash were discovered on opening the personal treasury of the late Sathya Sai Baba, the spiritual leader at Prashanta Nilayam in Puttaparthi town of Indias Andhra Pradesh.RJ Ratnakar, nephew of Sathya Sai Baba and member of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust told this to the media at Puttaparthi.The Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust members found 98 kilograms of gold and jewellery, 307 kilograms of silver articles and rupees 115.6 million ($ 2.58 million) in cash on unlocking Yajur Mandir, the private chambers of Sri Sathya Sai Baba at his Prashanta Nilayam Ashram.He also said that all these valuable assets, including cash, have been deposited in a bank as per directives of the Income Tax Department.A certified valuer designated by the Income Tax Department assessed all the gold and silver articles and jewellery, Ratnakar said.
