MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has given 48-hour ultimatum to the government to maintain peace in Karachi.

In an urgent statement issued from London, Altaf Hussain said that innocent people were being targeted in Karachi.He also warned the government of strong public retaliation if the deadline expires without obtaining desired results.He said that people would take on the task of defending their lives and belongings by taking the law into their own hands..He warned President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani that the government would be responsible if peace was not restored in the city.
