ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday congratulated the nation on the historic milestone of Pakistan’s first lunar satellite, iCube Qamar, mission in collaboration with China’s Chang’e-6 mission.

“Today marks a momentous leap for Pakistan space science programme. We are proud of our scientists and Pakistan collaboration with China,” he wrote on his X timeline.

“This achievement will inspire young minds in science and research, strengthen our Lunar Programme and expand our knowledge of the Moon,” the prime minister added.

The PM said Pakistani scientists, engineers and skilled workers have proved their mettle in this field like the expertise they exhibited in nuclear technology.

He paid tribute to the core committee of the Institute of Space Technology, including Dr Khurram Khurshid, the members of the SUPARCO team and students, who participated in the project.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said: "Today’s launch from Hainan in China, is a good example of countries and organisations coming together for space cooperation and shared benefits."
